The movie AvatarIt is set around the year 2150, when humans have managed to visit the Alpha Centauri system, and finally are colonizing a moon called Pandora, which is a habitable moon of that star system  The idea is to be able to mine a rare mineral known as Unobtanium

Not surprisingly, and as usual as in the case of humans, the plan threatens the continued existence of a local tribe known as the Na'vi, which is composed of a humanoid species that evolved in Pandora. By that time, humans had enormously already developed Genetic Engineering and had managed to combine our DNA with that of the Na'vis to come up with a body very similar to the humanoid, and that additionally can be controlled and operated from the brain of a remotely located human.

The development of the Avatar story started around 1994 when James Cameron wrote an 80-page plan for the film. In those days, according to Cameron, the necessary technology was not yet available to achieve his vision of the film, which was rather complex.  They still had to work on the language of the Na'vi, which finally began in 2005, and then Cameron kept developing the screenplay and fictional universe at the beginning of 2006.

Avatar was officially budgeted a huge amount of $237 million, as that high investment was necessary for the development of very complex, new visual effects.  Cameron was able to find the cooperation of a firm based in Wellington known as Weta Digital. However, the amount necessary for the extensive use of new motion capture filming techniques was even higher. The movie was released for traditional "2D" viewing, and also in "3D", plus adding several other new and and very modern techniques, even using the novel "4D" viewer's experiences in a few South Korean theaters.

Avatar premiered on December 10, 2009, in London and was released in the United States on December 18, 2009, to very positive reviews.  This costume honors Cameron's achievements, and also the idea of us humans reaching the levels of development portrayed in the film. By the way, there has been a new release of Avatar recently.

Celebrate with optimal joy with this magical costume.
