Henry Williams, often called Mutt, had a unique family history. He was the illegitimate son of Indiana Jones, and their paths did not cross until Mutt was a young adult.

Mutt's full original name was Henry Walton Jones III, and he came into the world as the result of an affair between Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood. Mutt's stepfather, Colin Williams, had already encountered a tragic fate during World War II. Mutt also had a half-sister named Sophie, born from his real father's previous relationship.

In 1957, Mutt joined his estranged, biological parents on an extraordinary adventure to return a legendary Crystal Skull to a place called Akator. During this journey, he showcased his exceptional fencing skills by engaging in a sword duel with Colonel Irina Spalko, a formidable member of the Soviet Special Forces.

A heartwarming moment occurred when Mutt witnessed his real parents, Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood, finally legally tying the man and woman knot after years of separation. However, their relationship was not without its challenges. Some conflicts arose between Mutt and Indiana Jones, prompting the young man to enlist in the army, mainly to irritate his father. Even a sadder event was when Mutt was killed in action in Vietnam, and Jones' grief almost led to Marion leaving him. However, thanks to the intervention of Helena Shaw, they found a way back to each other.

At the time, and even now, there were differing opinions about Mutt's character when he was portrayed by the young actor Shia LaBeouf alongside the older Indiana Jones. Some felt Shia was not the ideal fit for the role, which led to the decision to write Mutt out of the story, attributing his final absence to the Vietnam War.

However, this DeLuxe Costume Jacket suggests and imagines an alternate, happier fate for Mutt—one where he did not perish in Vietnam and grew older, which is a positive twist on his Mutt character's journey.
