There are two versions of this painting to be delivered to you.  ThIs version includes the old frame, and the second one just includes the actual canvas, which means perhaps a much cheaper postage cost for you. To take care of these two options we have listed the painting twice.

The dimensions of the canvas are 12" x 16", or 30.5 x 40.6cm.
The dimensions of the parcel including the frame are 55 x 45 x 10cm and 1.5 kg.  (THIS ONE)
The dimensions of the parcel without the frame are 47 x 35 x 8cm and 0.49 kg.  (NOT THIS ONE)

We were not able to find any reference about the painter Alice Goldie. Perhaps she was a professional painter, or just to paint was her hobby. We have no idea how old this painting is, or if Alice Goldie is still alive. Nonetheless, this painting is quite interesting and seems to reflect the painter's reaction when she most likely visited the magic area of the Katherine Gorge.

The Katherine Gorge is located in the Northern Territory in a National Park with the same name, or rather The Nitmiluk National Park.  Actually,  the Nitmiluk name is in Aboriginal language, and the name of the gorge then is The Nitmiluk Gorge. The Katherine Gorge is located in the 'Katherine' Region in the Northern Territory, Australia, and about 320 km south of Darwin.  By the way, Nitmiluk is the Jawoyn people's name for the Katherine Gorge, and it means "Cicada Place".

The Katherine Gorge seems to be an incredible tourist attraction that you may wish to visit someday.  We have no idea how professional as painter Alice Goldie was.   Nonetheless, the painting does reflect the strange landscape and history of this Gorge, and possibly also reflects her emotional reaction when visiting the Katherine Gorge.  We were not able to locate "Alice Goldie", and we have no idea when this painting was made.

Some photos on the Internet of the Katherine Gorge:

PHOTO 1:
This photo is from the Internet site pixers.uk.  This photo resembles a bit this painting. However, it is not really possible to know if it is the same scene Alice Goldie, (the painter), actually passed to her canvas. Also, please consider that the vegetation may have changed since the painting was made.

We have decided not to show the actual photo here due to its possible copyrights. However, you can see the photo going to the following link:

Another interesting photo, in this case from travelessence.co.uk, which also reflects a similar scene as the one in this painting is this one:  (at the Nitmiluk National Park), which again we have decided not to show the actual photo here due to its possible copyrights.
